The BB'25 is a new model being built by luthier Will Kimble
from Cincinnati,
Ohio. After studying my vintage 1925 Gibson F5, Will set out
to recreate
the overall sound, look and feel of this wonderful mandolin
which has been
my main recording and performing instrument since 1984.
When the first one
arrived back in June, I took
it out of the case and it practically wanted to play itself.
It seemed as if there was music stored up in this one, just
waiting to come out! I can't recall ever having a musical
experience like
that with another instrument. Honestly, I've NEVER played
a better new
mandolin!
